At GINAPS, we understand that children become lifelong learners by acquiring skills, not just by listening to their teachers. We also recognize that as teachers, it is our role to refine the way we teach to meet the needs of our pupils. Our curriculum at GINAPS Primary School reflects this approach, building on the skills that children acquire in their nursery years. The primary school curriculum progresses from skills to experiential learning to building knowledge.

And we made it as exciting, engaging, relevant, and creative as we possibly can. At GINAPS Primary School, our curriculum focuses on 4 skill areas that encompass your child’s complete development.

  • Physical skills: Focus on helping pupils use their muscles for tasks like writing, drawing, jumping, running, throwing, and kicking, providing opportunities for them to spot their talent at a young age.
  • Math Skills: Help your child to develop mastery in logic, problem-solving, shapes-sorting, and numeracy.
  • Linguistic Skills: These skillsーlistening, speaking, reading, writingー help your child to learn English as a language, rather than a subject.
  • Creative Skills: Gives equal importance to the creative side of pupils through art education, poetry, music, and dance.

Areas of Learning

At GINAPS, the areas of learning are designed to inspire children daily to work and strive to be their best. The subjects covered range from Geography, Sports & Physical Education, English, French, to History, Maths, Music, Science, Religious Studies, Art & Design, ICTs.

  • Communication & language encompasses listening and attention, understanding and speaking.
  • Physical development helps young children to run freely, climb, skip, jump and learn to balance on equipment.
  • Literacy introduces children to letters and sounds, a prerequisite to learning to read. We encourage them to make marks with crayons, paint, pencils before they can control a pencil well enough to write.
  • Mathematics provides opportunities for children to have mathematical experiences in numbers, shapes, sizes, and measurements.
  • ICT gives children access to computers and helps them use programs designed for young children.
  • Expressive arts & crafts and design encourage children to use their imagination to paint, write, create, and draw.

Outdoor Play

For pupils, play is part of how they learn and develop. Our safe and fenced outdoor playground provides exciting opportunities for children to develop most areas of learning in a recreative and quiet environment. At every turn, you would find teachable opportunities for kids.

  • The GINAPS playground is equipped with climbing structures, slides, horizontal monkey bars, and a variety of other apparatuses that promote coordination, balance, and physical strength.
  • For our children, contact with nature is wonderful. Our school garden is a special place for children to interact with flowers and experience plants and farming.
  • We see outdoors as a classroom in itself. That’s why the health and safety of our children are of paramount importance to us.

Library

Our library has a vast range of engaging fiction, non-fiction, and picture storybooks, helping pupils use the library for research purposes during lessons and fun during breaks. All classes have a timetabled weekly library lesson in the library taken by the class teacher or library teacher. We encourage our children to borrow books weekly.
