Children become lifelong learners by acquiring skills, not just by listening to their teachers. That’s why the curriculum at GINAPS Nursery School is competency-based, focusing on building crucial foundational skills instead of spending time lecturing children on different themes. Creativity and a focus on outcomes are fundamental to our curriculum design. We provide a blend of international and local curricula, and knowledge and skills, one that meets the ever-changing needs of each child and the world at large.

We make it as exciting, engaging, relevant, and creative as we possibly can. At GINAPS Nursery School, we use the Montessori method and our curriculum focuses on 3 skill areas that encompass your child’s complete development.

  • Physical skills: Focus on helping your child use their muscles for tasks like writing, drawing, jumping, running, throwing, kicking, etc.
  • Math Skills: Help your child to develop mastery in logic, problem-solving, shapes-sorting, and numeracy.
  • Linguistic Skills: Listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Daily Schedule

Our nursery provides high-quality play and first-hand experiences that can harness self-motivated growth in children while nurturing each child’s natural desire for knowledge, understanding, and respect. The daily schedule is based on our knowledge of what young children need to learn and develop. We employ a simple daily routine that puts the child at the center of what we do.

  • The majority of our day is what we call Busy Kid Time. This is when children choose what they want to do, who they want to play with, and where they want to play. They also have a snack and drink if they want to.
  • We also encourage children to help tidy up their toys during Tidy Time.
  • Greeting Time is when we greet everyone at the start of the day.
  • During Once Upon a Time, we come together to share interesting stories with the kids at the end of the day.
  • Dance Sessions encourage children to be more creative and enjoy a variety of different types of dance and music.
  • Every morning, children enjoy Busy Feet. This helps children to develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of their lives in a fun way.

Areas of Learning

At GINAPS, the areas of learning are designed to inspire children daily to work and strive to be their best.

  • Communication & language encompasses listening and attention, understanding and speaking.
  • Physical development helps young children to run freely, climb, skip, jump and learn to balance on equipment.
  • Literacy introduces children to letters and sounds, a prerequisite to learning to read. We encourage them to make marks with crayons, paint, pencils before they can control a pencil well enough to write.
  • Mathematics provides opportunities for children to have mathematical experiences in numbers, shapes, sizes, and measurements.
  • ICT gives children access to computers and helps them use programs designed for young children.
  • Expressive arts & crafts and design encourage children to use their imagination to paint, write, create, and draw.

Outdoor Play

For children, play is their work and how they learn. Our modern, safe, and fenced outdoor playground provides exciting opportunities for children to develop most areas of learning in a recreative and quiet environment. At every turn, you would find teachable opportunities for kids.

  • The GINAPS playground is equipped with climbing structures, slides, horizontal monkey bars, and a variety of other apparatuses that promote coordination, balance, and physical strength.
  • For our children, contact with nature is wonderful. Our school garden is a special place for children to interact with flowers and experience plants and farming.
  • We see outdoors as a classroom in itself. That’s why the health and safety of our children are of paramount importance to us.
